It’s pretty amazing to witness others demonstrate their faith in Christ through baptism. That feeling filled the auditorium last Sunday afternoon as seven children and students took that step.

Baptism illustrates our willingness to say, “YES!” to what Jesus did for us, and it’s also a way for us to identify with Jesus. Jesus died for our sins, was buried and was then raised from the dead, thereby defeating sin and death and becoming the Savior of the world. When we are baptized by immersion, it’s an illustration relating to Him, and it’s a proclamation to others that we now identify ourselves with Jesus Christ.

Baptism is our way of publicly saying to our friends and family, “I am His. I belong to Christ.”
Listen to and watch Alexis take this step:

On January 25, 2015, seven kids and students, including Alexis, took this step in front of 135 of their family, friends, teachers, youth leaders and loved ones. They each shared reasons for wanting others to know about their decision:

Alexis – “He has a plan for all of us.”

Liv – “I want the whole world to know that God loves you a lot.”

Reese – “You don’t have to see to believe…”

Yahir – “God has helped me…become a better person…become the person God wants me to be.”

Brady – “There’s nothing that you’ll do that He won’t forgive you for.”

Kaden – “Ever since I became a Christian, I became a better friend.”

Max – “I want to tell other people to know…if they believe in Jesus, they will go to Heaven, and they will live for eternity.”
