Each year, we — as a church — like to reach out to those around us. This year, we launched The Generosity Campaign as a way to help others, both near and far. We’re grateful to those of you who used your time, talents and gifts to partner with us in making a difference.

Here’s a summary of how we — together — impacted our community, our state and our world with the Generosity Campaign…

In early November, hundreds of you donated coats, hats, gloves and scarves for those who needed them. At the Generosity Party in mid-November, about 400 of you came to sort over 2000 winter items, to put together Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and to help us make light orbs for the front lawn.

Those 2000+ winter items were made available to the community in our lobby for eight days. We had families, individuals, some without homes, teachers who knew of students in need, and hundreds of people come to “shop” free of charge for what they needed to keep warm this winter. The few remaining items were donated to Christian Help in Morgantown.

At the Generosity Party, we put together 350 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Just over a week later, we had collected 1024 shoeboxes from those at The Ridge and 1264 more were dropped off by members of the community. In total, we shipped 2288 shoeboxes containing gifts and the Gospel message to Samaritan’s Purse for distribution to over 100 countries around the world.

And those light orbs? Together we cut chicken wire, formed orbital shapes and strung lights to get ready to decorate the front lawn at CRC to welcome everyone to our Uncharted series and Uncharted Christmas services.

The Generosity Campaign continued into December when hundreds of people from The Ridge made a difference by teaming up with the Hoss Foundation’s Gift Project. Together, we shopped for and wrapped over 7500 gifts. Those gifts were given to more than 1100 people this holiday season.

Thank YOU for generously being a part of all of it. YOUR generosity has made a difference in the lives of others in our community, state and world this holiday season!
