design

i thought that i should include a section in this blog about design, since that is one of my main jobs with the church; it has quickly become one of the favorite things i do although i feel i am really behind in terms of my technical ability. i am trying to think of an example of a design i have done that i like and could actually share here, but none comes to mind.

for every teaching series we do i create the visuals [sermon backgrounds, worship backgrounds, etc.]. here are a few of my favorites:

Just curious, Trey. Who is the runner in the picture for Moving Forward? Is it someone from church? Or a picture you found somewhere?

    Thanks!
    God Bless!

i do not know who the runner is. i get most of the images i use for the church graphics at istockphoto.com. i have found this to be a great stock photography site. very affordable and a huge number of photos.

Hey Trey. I am a college student at WVU and I am studying graphic design. I have been going to Chestnut Ridge the past two years that I have been here, and I have seen all the amazing graphics that you have done. I am also on the leadership team at Baptist Campus Ministries for WVU. All that to say, we are trying to create a new banner for BCM that can go on the bridge downtown beside the PRT. I was wondering if you would be willing to help me out with this project or point me in the direction of someone who could help. Only being in my second actual graphic design class, I still have a lot to learn in the field and I would like the banner to look nice so that it will catch people’s eyes and who knows maybe bring some people in and lives would be saved as a result. If you could just email me and let me know whether you can or can’t help that would be great. Thanks for your time, and I’ll see you on Sunday!
    Emily
